Dividing Gotu Kola, Centella asiatica

Some days ago I received my Centella asiatica (gotu kola) order. The box showed how badly it was treated by the cargo >companies; so before I opened it, I thought "poor >plants", but they where so perfectly well packed, that they came in neat >condition. Now they are growing so well, that I think they must like where they were planted. Congratulations for the >packing department. I wish to divide them as soon as possible since the rains are coming, but I am not sure how it is done. Would you please teach me how to do it? I will appreciate a little knowledge on that.

There are two good ways to divide the plants. One is to dig the plant up, carefully tear/tease it apart and replant the pieces. You can also take about 3-5cm cuttings and dip in rooting hormone and stick into sterilized sand or sandy soil in a flat. Keep moist and covered in bright light out of sunlight, until they start to grow.
