What herbs can help to return a sense of smell?

A loss of smell may result from excess catarrh or damage to the mucous membrane in the common cold, blockage by a polyp or some foreign object, smoking, or nerve damage in head injury. The sense of smell decreases with age.

Herbs that can help are: Echinacea in stimulating the immune response can help to clear any infective cause, Poke root to clear toxins through the lymphatic system. Vitamin B complex can help to strengthen the nerves, vitamins C, E and the mineral zinc can help to improve the integrity of the body’s cells.
