Motion Sickness

I will be going on a trip to Hawaii in the next month. I had heard that ginger could be used to prevent air/motion sickness from the plane. Do you have any other suggestions.

Herbs that work well to avoid motion sickness are:

Ginger capsules: Daniel Mowrey in "Proven Herbal Blends" (available at Richters) states that taking 2-4 capsules prior to travel and 2 more capsules taken every hour or so or immediately upon feeling the least sign of motion sickness, works in 90% of cases of motion sickness. Ginger has shown to be more effective than common motion sickness drugs.

A combination of equal parts of Ginger and Black Horehound: 10 drops each of these tinctures the evening before travel, again in the morning with toast and some during the journey.

Basil, Cinnamon, Peppermint and Red Raspberry leaves are also effective in motion sickness. A tea can be made by combining these herbs.
