In your Q&A section, there is an inquiry requesting herbs for cleansing. You suggest a tea using Chamomile, Dandelion leaf, Ginger, Nettle, and Red Clover. You give suggestions for the dosage. How often and for how long is this tea taken?

Also can you suggest (or direct me to information about) herbal teas that can be taken on a daily basis without side effects?

When you are cleansing for health problems, a tea such as the one suggested above may be taken three times a day for one or two weeks. A cleansing diet, one that is high on fresh fruits and vegetables and that avoids red meat, fatty and fried foods, dairy products, alcohol, sugar products and all artificial food additives, will speed the cleansing process.

It is a good idea to vary the herbs taken daily as teas. Some safe herbs that can be used for specific health purposes or daily in rotation are: Elderflower, Cardamom, Nettle, German Chamomile, Lemon balm, Lemon verbena, Linden flower, Thyme, Fennel, Dandelion and Calendula.

The general rule on making teas with herbs is to use one teaspoon of dried, or three teaspoons of fresh herbs per cup of boiling water, steeped for 15 minutes in a covered ceramic pot or cup. When using multiple dried herbs, combine the herbs and use one teaspoon of the dried herb combination per cup of water.
