I would like to know if saw palmetto would be helpful in treating ‘hypothyroidism’ as I have this condition and have heard that it maybe able stimulate the thyroid gland function.

Saw Palmetto (Serenoa serrulata) berries are diuretic, antispasmodic and astringent to the urinary system. They are commonly used in urinary tract infections and benign prostate hypertrophy. Saw Palmetto also supports the adrenal glands. Adrenal gland support sometimes helps with symptoms of hypothyroid.

It is important that you are under the care of a medical practitioner, who can assess your condition and monitor your progress. It is dangerous to self-medicate in thyroid conditions.
