Insomnia and Child’s Growth

I have 2 questions:

1. I have a 15-year old son who is growing slowly. He’s 5’2". This may be the norm, and maybe I’m just impatient because I see kids who are 12/13 and much bigger than him. Maybe it’s nothing, but maybe not. He may have a sluggish thyroid, but his tests have been normal. He has other issues such as depression, and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Are there any herbs that might help expedite his growth, or is it just not nice to "fool with mother nature?"

2. I’m an insomniac. Is there a herb that can help me sleep better. I’m taking meds from my doctor, but I’d prefer something natural, if it’s available.

I don’t know of any herbs that will expedite your son’s growth. I suggest that you consult an experienced medical practitioner who can look at a full case history of your son.

There are herbal suggestions for insomnia on our website at http://www.richters.com. Choose "Q&A" from the main menu, then choose "Search Richters Q&A", and enter the word "insomnia" for the search.
