Help for an Overweight Child

I would like to know what herbs would be suitable for children to take for weight loss.

Most important are your child’s diet and daily exercise.

Your child’s diet should be high in fruit and vegetables, and low in fatty food, fried food, junk food, dairy, and sugar. Use only whole grains, avoiding all refined grains in white bread, pasta and refined cereals. Fruit juices are high in sugar, so should be watered down. Children should get at least an hour of outdoor exercise daily to build a healthy body. Fibre is important for elimination of waste materials. A good-tasting, high fibre drink can be made by blending apples, carrots and pears with water into a smoothie.

You can help your child by ensuring that the whole family eats a healthy diet, by keeping healthy foods, like sliced fruit and vegetables, available for snacks, by limiting time in front of a television or computer, and by encouraging family outdoor activities.
