Can you give me some insight into corns on toes? Suggested herbs?

A corn is an area of thickened skin, resulting from continues pressure on an area of the toe. They are often caused by tight fitting shoes. Firstly, relieve the pressure by wearing comfortable shoes and use a padded felt corn ring, available at pharmacies.

There are many traditional herbal remedies to loosen the hardened skin, including:

- application of a fresh, crushed comfrey leaf, taped in place, or the juice from a greater celandine plant.

- Apply a slice of lemon, binding in place at night.

- Similarly, apply a slice of onion, or wipe corn with onion juice several times daily.

- Soak the foot in hot, soapy water or water with cider vinegar or Epsom salts.

- Apply olive oil to corn.
