I have really bad migraines. I also stress a lot. Can herbs help me?

Stress is a major factor in migraines. I suggest that you avoid the possible trigger foods mentioned in the information that you will find on our web site, and explore ways that you can reduce stress. A natural practitioner or a lifestyle consultant can help you to identify causes of your stress, to work with you on these causes and to find methods of relaxation that work for you and your lifestyle. These methods may include walking or other exercise, yoga, Chi Gung, meditation or breathing exercises.

Herbs and diet can help with stress. Relaxing herbs include German chamomile and passion flower. Some people find taking a cup of relaxing herbal tea at night very helpful, others find that taking the tea three times a day works better for them. In the diet, ensure that you are getting sufficient protein: a little meat, fish or egg at every meal, or a vegetarian protein combination of beans and grains. Foods high in vitamins B (whole grains, nuts, seeds, green vegetables) and C (citrus and other fruits) nourish the nervous system.
