Is there any herb or over the counter drug you can take for a hormone replacement to help with night sweats?

If the night sweats are caused by menopausal sex hormone imbalance, a combination of the following herbs may help: Vites agnus-castus (chasteberry) to balance hormones, Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort) to support the liver in processing hormones and support the nerves, Tilia cordata (linden or lime flower) to support the nerves and promote sleep. You may be able to find such a combination in your health food store, or you can purchase the alcoholic tinctures separately. Ask the health food store attendant for a good brand and follow the directions on the labels.

In your diet, avoid hot, spicy foods, ginger, cayenne and alcohol.

Night sweats can also be a symptom of cancer, tuberculosis, malaria, thyroid imbalance or blood sugar imbalance. It is important that you see your health care provider for blood tests and to evaluate any other symptoms you may have.
