Can echinacea be taken with high blood pressure medicine such as Norvasc?

Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker that dilates the blood vessels to decrease blood pressure. Although echinacea does have a blood vessel dilation action, it is not considered to be contraindicated in blood pressure medication. When a herb has the same action as a drug, you should watch for a potential interaction. If you do take echinacea, check your blood pressure regularly to ensure that it does not decrease to an unlealthy level.
