In a new herbal for stress and weight loss, does Banaba leaf extract, Vanadyl Sulfate, Green Tea leaf extract, Asian Ginseng root extract or Magnolia bark extract cause a rise in blood pressure, constriction of blood vessels or interfere with blood thinners? I had a stroke in 1997 from a blood clot from birth control pills at the age of 32 and now at the age of 40 I have to be careful what I take and I do consult my doctor before I take any OTC.

According to Dr. Andrew Weil, http://www.drweil.com/u/QA/QA342830/ cortisol blockers, as these stress/weight loss products are called, may not be effective in weight loss and may not be safe.

Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng) may increase blood pressure. Some studies show that it increases blood pressure, while others show that it regulates blood pressure. As far as I know, none of the other ingredients increase blood pressure, constrict blood vessels or affect blood thinning medication.
