Body Chills with Hypothyroid Answered by: Susan Eagles Question from: Yvonne Posted on: December 05, 2006
I have a thyroid problem and am taking levoxyl, but I am always cold. I can’t seem to keep my body warm. What herbs can help me to overcome this chill?
I suggest that you visit your endocrinologist to check whether the dose of your thyroid medication could be adjusted for this symptom.
Warming herbs are Ginger and Cayenne. You can make a ginger tea by gently simmering an inch of fresh ginger, sliced, in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper per cup for an extra spicy tea and quick whole-body warm up.
