I am a nursing mother, recently been told that I have liver disease. I have Oregon’s Wild Harvest product Milk Thistle/Dandelion Extract (combined herbs) 1000mg and I understand that it can help with my upper abdomen pain. Is this combination herb safe for me to take?

Dandelion and milk thistle are liver supportive herbs that are considered safe in breastfeeding. I suggest that you consult with a qualified medical or clinical herbalist who will do a full health assessment to understand your health problem and offer you additional advice. Please see our website for a list of organizations of qualified natural practitioners: from www.richters.com choose Q&A, then enter "herbalist" for the Q&A search and look for the item "Finding a Herbalist".

For additional information on milk thistle and dandelion, you can enter the words "milk thistle" or "dandelion" in the Q&A search.
