I’ve been recommended to take Tlao He Cleanse as a colon cleanser. Could you please let me know if any of the herbs in this herbal supplement are contraindicated for my liver.

I am sorry but I am not able to comment on a proprietary blend. Furthermore, I am not familiar with this blend.

Also, why is it that the doctors here in the United States specifically mention not to take any herbs because of the harm it will cause to the liver?

The liver is a very sensitive organ that is responsible for keeping the body free of metabolic waste and other harmful substances. If the liver is not able to determine how best to eliminate such a substance, it may not get eliminated thus "congests" this elimination system. So concern with liver health is always considered. Doctors, being doctors and not herbalists, do not know or understand herbs and as such recommend that they be avoided due to of their own ignorance regarding the herbs safety. Additionally, in the past 10 years or so there have been a few reports, not all substantiated either, of the damaging effects by just a few herbs on the liver. Unfortunately it has now become standard practice for most herbs to be painted with the same brush. Again, this is simply an ignorance issue.
