Flaxseed, Dosage

What is the daily recommended dosage of flaxseed?

That would depend on the usage. If you are using them whole as a bulking agent in an effort to keep the bowels moving and clear, then 1 tablespoon twice per day with water but away from meals, would be indicated. If you are using the seeds as a source of essential fatty acids, then you need to grind them up, fresh, and eat 1 to 3 tablespoons per day with meals, would be indicated. These doses are for the average adult in fairly good health. For therapeutic doses they would of course be higher.
