I have been told that cod liver oil and lemons would help bipolar disease and that there are teas to help with weight loss problems.

Cod liver oil, being high in essential fatty acids (EFAs) is important for the nervous system and therefore any type of depression and mental diseases. EFAs are not only anti-inflammatory but they are essential building blocks for the nervous system and for nervous system function. As such, EFAs are part of a holistic treatment plan for bipolar diseases. Furthermore and with respect to the lemons, mental health has been linked with digestive health since the 1920’s. Research has shown that a healthy digestive system supports a healthier mental state and since lemons help to stimulate the liver and improve digestive function, it can be seen that they can play a round about role in mental health.
