I am interested in growing my own plants to make pepper with. I aleady have a small herb garden in a greenhouse I built. Where can I get seeds from? Also is it fairly easy to grow I am in Louisiana and it stays hot most of the time here.

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) seeds are very short lived. We have never had any success with seeds from several sources claiming to have fresh seeds. We believe that black pepper needs to be picked fresh and planted immediately or shipped and planted immediately. If the seeds are in storage for any time they quickly lose their viability. This is why the black peppercorns sold as a spice do not germinate.

If we ever find a source of viable seeds we will add the seeds to our catalogue.
