I am from South Korea and have a big problem during botany study. I am studying about the Vick’s plant. According to Wikepedia Vick plant is Plectranthus tomentosa. But according to your site it isn’t. Please explain about Vick plant in detail. I want to know which scientific name is right, and what are the uses of Vick plant.

We got the plant with the name Plectranthus purpuratus and never questioned it. Unfortunately, Hortus Third calls our name an invalid name, which means it was not properly described (Latin description published in a well-known international botanical publication plus the deposit of a pressed specimen in a well-known herbarium.) Hortus Third does mention Plectranthus tomentosa and I therefore think that is the correct name. Thank you for alerting us to this problem.
