Senna for Constipation

What exactly do senna leaves and senna pods clean in a female body? Is senna only good for the stomach?

Senna leaves and senna pods are laxative, used to stimulate the bowel in constipation. They are used to cleanse the intestines. Senna should not be used in bowel inflammation. Senna and other strong laxatives create a dependency, causing the bowel to lose its ability to work naturally. They should not be used for long periods of time. In chronic constipation, the cause must be found and treated.
